Climate Action and Sustainability

Mission Statement

At Watergrove Trust, our commitment has always been about providing more. Today, that promise extends beyond the classroom and into the very world our learners will inherit.

We recognise that a truly meaningful education must include the stewardship of our planet. By launching our climate action plans, we are pledged to reducing our emissions, embedding sustainability into our culture, and leading by example.

We aren’t just teaching for today, we are providing more for the future; ensuring our learners have the skills, the environment, and the healthy planet they need to thrive for a lifetime.

Our Objective

Our work is structured around the four key areas outlined in the Department for Education’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy:

Reducing our carbon emissions across our estate and operations working towards net zero.

Embedding climate change education within the curriculum. Supporting learners to understand sustainability and develop relevant skills.

Preparing our schools for the impacts of climate change and how to best respond to these changes.

Biodiversity and Nature

Increasing and protect biodiversity across our school sites and surroundings.

Watergrove Trust Climate Action Strategy

Our strategy outlines the framework for Watergrove Trust to reduce our environmental impact, contribute to local and national climate goals, and embed sustainability into the ethos of our schools. We recognise the urgency of the climate crisis and are committed to taking meaningful action to protect our planet and secure a sustainable future for our community.
