Raising Rochdale Awards 2025 Success
The Watergrove Trust is celebrating a marvellous achievement, with two of our schools—Falinge Park High School and Matthew Moss High School—earning an impressive breadth of recognition across multiple categories at the annual Raising Rochdale Awards.
The Raising Rochdale Awards are a vital fixture in the borough’s educational calendar, established to celebrate and recognise the outstanding contributions of schools, colleges, and individuals making a profound difference in the lives of young people. The awards ceremony highlights schools and individuals that go above and beyond in student welfare, cultural development, and educational excellence.
A Trust-Wide Commitment to Excellence
The nominations secured by both Falinge Park High School and Matthew Moss High School underscore the Trust’s collective and comprehensive approach to education. This year more than 600 nominations were submitted by pupils, parents, carers, governors and school staff
Falinge Park High School (FPHS) achieved recognition in an astonishing five categories, securing a major win in the Commitment to Inclusion award. FPHS was also celebrated as runner-up in four other areas, demonstrating the breadth of its impact:
- Personal Development
- Cultural Education
- Mental Health & Wellbeing
- Raising Rochdale School of the Year
Matthew Moss High School (MMHS) also received nominations across key areas, reflecting the school’s dedication to holistic student growth and academic success.
The specific categories MMHS was shortlisted in are:
- Commitment to Science Education (The nomination was for Hayden Saville)
- Secondary Teacher of the Year (The nominations were for both Ethan Dent and Nicola Edwards)
