Celebrating Staff at the Raising Rochdale Education Awards
Colleagues from across the Trust attended the first ever Raising Rochdale Education Awards last week to celebrate the wonderful schools, colleges and individuals positively impacting the lives of young people in Rochdale.
Schools, colleges, teachers and support staff were recognised for their outstanding contributions to education through 387 nominations from 72 different schools across the borough. Awards included Teacher of the Year, Lifetime Achievement and the Mental Health and Wellbeing Award.
Amongst the night’s winners were our very own Matthew Moss High School, winner of the SEND Provision Award, and Falinge Park High School, winner of the Commitment to the Environment Award. We are so proud of our schools for being recognised in this way for all of their hard work.
Wardle Academy headteacher James Glennie was also recognised for his contribution to education as a runner up in the Teacher of the Year Award. Julie Clarke and James Bannon, governors of Kentmere Academy and Moorhouse Academy, were also recognised for their fantastic work as runners up in the Governor of the Year Award.
