Transforming our Learning Environments at Moorhouse Academy
As a Trust, we take pride in always ‘providing more’ for our learners by ensuring our schools are maintained and improved throughout the year to offer the best teaching and learning environments possible.
An exciting refurbishment project was brought to life at Moorhouse Academy over the school holidays with significant renovations and remodelling carried out across the school site.
The Early Years provision at Moorhouse has been completely remodelled with a particular focus on creating a light and bright space for our Nursery and Reception children. The layout of the space itself has been carefully designed by external consultants with our littlest learners in mind, creating a space which supports their play, growth and development.
Over in Key Stage Two, two classrooms have been transformed into an SEN Hub for the children attending Springside School. From floor to ceiling, every detail of the hub space has been designed to make the areas feel safe, calm and comfortable. The lovely cloud-shaped acoustic ceiling panels minimise noise and add to the peaceful setting of the space for the children at Springside.
A classroom has been converted into a fantastic library space, fitted out with bright and colourful vinyls depicting the children’s favourite story characters and reading titles. This space will be a shared reading environment for all of the children at Moorhouse and Springside School to enjoy. The lovely library brings reading to life and is another calm and inviting space for children to learn and thrive.
The works completed over summer have already had a wonderful and lasting impact on all of the children and staff at Moorhouse. Headteacher Kelly Milnes has expressed the even stronger sense of pride and excitement felt by the whole school in the first weeks of the new year. We are so excited to see the children grow and thrive in their lovely new surroundings.
A wide range of contractors and professionals have worked collaboratively with our team to produce this incredible result for the children and staff at Moorhouse. The transformation of the children’s learning environments within a very tight timeframe would not have been possible without their collaboration and hard work.
