Gold Award for Rochdale In Bloom
Rochdale in Bloom is a community group that makes Rochdale “look blooming” and what a good job they do!
For the 2nd time, they have been awarded the Gold Award by Britain In Bloom as well as winning the Overall Category Award! These are outstanding achievements for recognition of hard work in the community.
We are extra proud as one of the members of Rochdale In Bloom is our very own Roy Down, who has worked at Matthew Moss High School for over a decade! Well done, Roy!

Rochdale in Bloom
Rochdale in Bloom have been awarded Gold in the Small City category for their work to use Bloom as a vehicle for inclusion and diversity.
Reaching out to a wide range of communities in the city through their park transformation projects, installation of planters at local mosques and refurbishment at Castleton to create a communal village green, Rochdale in Bloom are instrumental in creating safe green spaces for all to use.
The importance of health and wellbeing is also clear in Rochdale’s work, demonstrated in the Growth Project, a community allotment for adults with mental health issues. Planted with an array of flowers and vegetables, along with space for craft activities and socialising, the Growth Project provides an outdoor space for participants to develop new skills, build confidence and take much-needed time out from their everyday lives.
